I would like to wish everyone a very happy and safe new year!I know we live in uncertain times. There are threats of WW III beginning, or will we look back and say that it has already begun. Many are anxious and fearful of an economic crash that would result in shortages of food, water and fuel. Or of civil unrest in our streets due to whatever crisis comes next. I tell you that I have peace in my heart about these things. I have common sense so I prepare to a small degree what I can. But see I am truly anxious for nothing. My God will supply my needs according to His riches in glory. If you would like to lay ahold of that type of peace, email me at email@example.com.
Have a blessed new year!
I will be sharing pictures of my projects…next year!!
As I stated in my last post, I have finished another doll. This one has a shorter layered (sor of!) hair-do. She is made from all cotton yarn, except her hair. I don’t have a name for her yet.
This is the cat i mentioned in my last post also! I got frustrated with the yarn and also with how the limbs are to be attached. The lady who wrote the pattern had some very nice finished products, but as of yet, I have not figured out how to finish her!
Ahh yes! This is going to be another “My Little Pony” inspired character. One more leg to do; plus the assembly ; then decorating with mane, tail, eyes and cutie mark!
…that is all for now. I will post a picture of the pony before I send her off to her new home!
As always, if you would like to order something, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org!
I have been working on a few things, but haven’t taken any pictures of my projects. I just wanted to write a brief update. I made another doll. These might become my specialty! If you would like to try your hand at one, there is a free crochet pattern at amigurumiBB.com, under BB dolls. Vanja has other free patterns for additional dolls and characters there too! I want to try and make a Waldorf inspired baby doll from her website some time. I also attempted an amigurumi cat but it looks like rat! So, I don’t think I will be sharing pictures of it! I even gave up (for now!) on putting it together.
I ordered some great yarn from Craftsy because I have been wanting to make this beautiful cape. It takes 14 skiens of yarn! Craftsy has great deals on yarn or I wouldn’t have been able to afford it. So, I got the yarn and I am now working on this large project. I will take pictures when it is finished.
If you would like to order anything that I have posted previously, please email me at email@example.com!
This was my display table at the Honey Craft holiday Market last Saturday in Woodstock, IL! As you can see, I have a wide variety of merchandise for sale! My amigurumi animals in the back, all the way to my jewelry in front. socks and hats and shawls, oh my!
During the craft fair I was finishing up the little sweetheart! I sponsor a little Haitian girl through Love-A-Child, and I made a doll that looks like her. I wanted to send it to her but i just got a letter saying that packages are not getting through due to the political unrest there. So, I named her “Destine” after my girl!
My best friend had a birthday on December 7th and I made her a doll that looks like her daughter so, this is “Taylor”!
I got a message the other day from an old friend from Jr. High and High School. She asked if I made any amigurumi inspired by the “My Little Pony” characters. I hadn’t up until that point. She told me that there are a lot of young adults that loved these classic characters. I remember when I was growing up, my sister had some of these “dolls”, for lack of a better word. I found out that there are new cartoons out with new “My Little Pony” characters. Again, I found a free pattern for the body, thanks to knitoneawesome.blogspot.co.uk! I crocheted the eyes and had a dickens of a time embroidering them on! I also found a pattern for a six-pointed star for her “cutie mark” on her rump. Again I embroidered the white stars around the “cutie mark”. I crochet! I don’t do embroidery unless I absolutely have to! My sewing, by hand is getting better, too. It’s funny. I learned all of these skills: sewing, embroidery, knitting, when I was, like, 8 or 9 years old. Here I am 40 years later actually using them! I never learned to crochet back then. I only learned about a year and a half ago off of YouTube videos! So…here is MY little pony, inspired by Twilight Sparkle. If any of you Bronies would like one, contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org!
I was looking for something different to make the other day and I had all of this light pink rug yarn someone had given me. I thought, “I have made all of these animals. How about a people?” I looked on my free crochet pattern sites. (just do an internet search for ‘free crochet patterns’ . You can also do a ‘free pattern__’ search on Pinterest too.) Well, you see the result! I found amigurumibb.com! Vanja is an especially talented designer. She also teaches you how to create your own patterns with all sorts of principles of spheres and ovals to make animals or people. I haven’t gotten that adventurous yet! The first picture is KK made from Vanja’s BB doll pattern.
The second picture, (below) is Moira, the redhaired, warrior woman! She has a bow and a quiver full of arrows! I have a love of all things Celtic so, I had to make this doll! The pattern is also on amigurumibb.com. Vanja’s blog is also on Word Press. I will try and link it to here! I found that I can make dolls eyes with polymer clay (my other crafty passion!). So Moira is sporting eye ball beads! For ordering your own custom doll, email me at email@example.com or on facebook! Don’t forget the Honey Craft Market THIS Saturday December 5th on the square in Woodstock, IL! I will have all of my crocheted items there! Coming soon…an Etsy shop!!
Here are the snowflakes I crocheted yesterday and this morning. I think they turned out pretty good for the first try! Unfortunately, two other patterns I tried didn’t work out. I followed the pattern exactly and they looked like parts were missing! Oh, well.
My attempt to create a cloud with raindrops! Some have said that it looks like a sculpture. I had an idea and this is what I have come up with. I actually should have made one with snowflakes…hmmm, maybe that should be my next one! We had a huge snowstorm the day before yesterday. Here in a suburb of Chicago got about a foot of snow! It ended up being 5 degrees over night last night. Brrrrrrr! This is January weather in November!
I think the next one I make will have interchangeable raindrops or snowflakes so someone can change it with the seasons. As always, you can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org!
I am sharing with you my earring collection! I have crocheted all of these earrings and much more besides. For instance, the small variegated blue flowers also come in pink, purple and an aqua blue. The tear drop shaped earrings are also available in a red (like the large flowers), a teal, a teal variegated, a variegated gray/ dark gray and a blue (like the small blue flowers). The large yellow and red flowers also come in pink and a multi lavender/ dark purple/ light green/ olive green combo type. i will try and get pictures of the other shades up soon! The wire and blue also come in a wire/ brown and gold. I also have necklace/earring/bracelet sets! These are crocheted using a 1.5-1.65mm steel crochet hook and embroider thread. The wire ones use jewelry wire and slightly larger hook, like the cuff bracelets. See, I don’t just make hats and afghans! If you would like to contact me, please email me at email@example.com. I am also found on Facebook under Cabin Crochet Creations by Tanya Joy.
I found a new pattern for ear warmers and cable fingerless gloves! I am having a ball making them. It is challenging and rewarding at the same time. I have been making amigurumi for a while and it is a nice change to make something else for a while. I made a cute little sheep for my friend who is grieving her Grandma’s passing. I know it didn’t help but it was nice to see her smile a little. I also made a turkey for Thanksgiving, which is rapidly approaching. It is a very dreary, gray day with rain. At least it isn’t snowing yet! Have a blessed day!
I have, in my jewelry line, cuff style bracelets. They are crocheted with jewelry wire and different color beads. I use a 3.25mm steel crochet hook to crochet the wire. It feels a lot different than crocheting yarn! I also make bracelets that are not cuff style. I don’t have any pictures of them yet. Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to have any of these unique bracelets for your own!
