I am sharing with you my earring collection! I have crocheted all of these earrings and much more besides. For instance, the small variegated blue flowers also come in pink, purple and an aqua blue. The tear drop shaped earrings are also available in a red (like the large flowers), a teal, a teal variegated, a variegated gray/ dark gray and a blue (like the small blue flowers). The large yellow and red flowers also come in pink and a multi lavender/ dark purple/ light green/ olive green combo type. i will try and get pictures of the other shades up soon! The wire and blue also come in a wire/ brown and gold. I also have necklace/earring/bracelet sets! These are crocheted using a 1.5-1.65mm steel crochet hook and embroider thread. The wire ones use jewelry wire and slightly larger hook, like the cuff bracelets. See, I don’t just make hats and afghans! If you would like to contact me, please email me at email@example.com. I am also found on Facebook under Cabin Crochet Creations by Tanya Joy.
I found a new pattern for ear warmers and cable fingerless gloves! I am having a ball making them. It is challenging and rewarding at the same time. I have been making amigurumi for a while and it is a nice change to make something else for a while. I made a cute little sheep for my friend who is grieving her Grandma’s passing. I know it didn’t help but it was nice to see her smile a little. I also made a turkey for Thanksgiving, which is rapidly approaching. It is a very dreary, gray day with rain. At least it isn’t snowing yet! Have a blessed day!
I have, in my jewelry line, cuff style bracelets. They are crocheted with jewelry wire and different color beads. I use a 3.25mm steel crochet hook to crochet the wire. It feels a lot different than crocheting yarn! I also make bracelets that are not cuff style. I don’t have any pictures of them yet. Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to have any of these unique bracelets for your own!
I would like to share with you one of the many slouchy hats I have available for purchase. This one is multi colored with cream as the base color. matching mittens are available, see multi mittens. This type of slouchy hat is $20 USD. I also have solid color hats for $15 USD.
This is a large brimmed specialty hat. I only have this one available right now. It is gorgeous. The colors in the hat are muted bright pink, blue, orange and tan along with a gold metallic thread running throughout. This particular hat style is $30 USD.
This is my favorite hat. It is a solid San Diego blue made from Lion brand Hometown USA yarn. It is a regular beanie type hat. I think the rosette makes the hat special! This hat or one ordered to be made just like it, is $20 USD.
These mittens are made from an ice blue, Lion Brand Homespun yarn. Unlined mittens are $12 USD and lined mittens with fleece are $15 USD. These mittens have a matching slouchy hat, just like the first hat shown here. The hat and mitten set (unlined) is $30 USD. The set with lined mittens is $32 USD. (all mittens shown are made from the same materials and have the same pricing as described here.
Please email me at email@example.com if you would like to purchase any of these items or would like to order yours in your favorite color!
I am going to be at the Honey Craft Market on December 5, 2015. In Woodstock, IL on the square. The market is going to be in the Mixn’ Mingle building. I will also have my jewelry there which will be featured tomorrow!
The other day I introduced you to Lily and I said there were 2 other mascots for Cabin crochet creations. Well, here is the gang! From left to right is TJ, Sheldon and sweet Lily.
Here is a solo picture of Sheldon.
And a solo picture of TJ. Tomorrow I will be posting pictures of my hats and mittens! As always, if you would like me to make an amigurumi animal of your own, contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or on Facebook. facebook already has some pictures of my hats, etc. have a great day!
I want to take this opportunity to thank those who have served in our nations military. Many veterans have given the ultimate sacrifice, of their lives, to keep this nation free. Unfortunately the renegade in the White House has made executive actions undermining our nations freedoms. Patriots are being drummed out of the highest ranks of our military because they will not turn on American citizens. Patriots, constitutionalists, 2nd amendment rights activists and Christians, are now labeled as terrorists! Meanwhile, our government is actively pursuing muslims to populate our cities. The majority of these so called, refugees are military age young men. They will get free housing, healthcare, food stamps and $35,000 dollars a year per person! And our veterans are going without adequate healthcare, without adequate housing and are labeled as terrorists! What is wrong with this picture?! These policies make me physically ill. Over 2,000 vets a day are committing suicide. This is not your Grandpa’s country. If you would like more information on this and subjects like this visit http://www.hagmannandhagmann.com and listen to their radio show. Thank you vets for your service!
So, I made this red, white and blue blanket to commemorate our nations military heroes. If you would like to purchase this twin sized blanket please contact me at email@example.com. I used regular red Heart Super Saver yarn and it took me about 3 months to make!
Well, I was going to post a picture of the rest of the gang but even though I put all of my pictures on a SD card, this tablet is still telling me it has low memory! I may have to just write my blog from my roommate’s laptop. I bought this stupid thing so I didn’t have to use her computer! <sigh> stuff happens. Then it happens some more. Hopefully I will be able to share some pictures with you tomorrow.
Happy day! I have finally figured out how to get my pictures from my tablet on to an SD card! I am still getting messages that I have low memory when trying to insert more than one picture per post. But enough of that…
I would like you to meet Lily! She is one of the amigurumi animals I have made. She is also, one of the three, mascots for Cabin Crochet Creations! Sheldon, and TJ are the other two and (hopefully) I will be posting pictures of them next.
In the polyform clay medium, I will be attempting to make a butterfly necklace out of the lace cane I made the other day. I purchased some more colors and some necessary tools because this looks like it is going to be somethings else I enjoy. I have always loved squishing clay in my fingers. I took some art classes a LONG time ago where we worked with clay. This clay is something completely different. My friend said “You are really going to buy all this for play-dough?”. It is nothing like play-dough. Iit has more characteristics of white clay than play-dough. What I love is that you don’t have to bake it in a kiln. You just stick it in an oven at approximately 275 degrees (look on the package because different brands require different temperatures). Well, it is off to the kitchen to play with my clay!
I started this blog to showcase my crocheted creations but my tablet is not allowing me to upload my pictures for you! I discovered last night that I have 10 MGs of free storage on Propack Cloud storage so I thought my problem was solved! Nope. Now I am concerned that if I buy a micro SD card I am going to have the same problem! We shall see…
Meanwhile, I have just started amigurumi. Which is a Japanese art form where you crochet animals, dolls and some people even make crocheted food! You use a very small crochet hook and usually a thiner yarn, like dk which means a double knit strand of yarn. I found that using regular aluminum crochet hooks, my hand starts to hurt! I found a great solution courtesy of Janey at the Dabbles and Babbles blog. She used polymer clay to make custom handles on her crochet hooks. Well, I used her excellent instructions and made some custom handles of my own! I really wish I could upload pictures to show you, but I am not able to right now.
When I finished the crochet hook handles, I was thinking “what do I do with the rest of the polymer clay I bought?”. I did a few searches and found some great videos and picture tutorials of what people are creating out of polymer clay! I have discovered canes. Canes are a two dimensional picture in a three dimensional cylinder. Then you take slices of that cylinder to make beads and many other things. Thanks to Kelly Donavon at knittingandthings.com I made a beautiful lace cane that I am going to use to create a butterfly pendant! Uh-oh…I think I may have a new addiction on my hands! At least I can split my time between crochet and polymer clay. Blessings!
HI! I am a mom with grown children. I was a Registered Nurse for 14 years. I wanted to do something that wasn’t always life or death.
I discovered crochet and it turns out I have a talent for it. I started this blog to give others inspiration. If you a retired or can’t work anymore you might have a natural ability to do something artistic with your hands. It might not be knitting or crochet, but you might have a knack for polymer clay art or needlepoint. After so many years rushing about, I feel that we have to do something to give out life meaning. Mine just happens to be crochet. I wanted to share with people what I have made. Truthfully, I want you to buy my handmade crochet items. I am going to be opening an Etsy shop and you will be able to purchase what I showcase here. I will also take custom orders from you! Yes! You can contact me and we can discuss size and materials you would like your personalized item to be made from. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org! Everyone have a blessed day!
